Spartan Basketball News and Analysis
This was brutal and it goes to show how 1) The Spartans probably aren’t a top ten team, at least not at this point in the season and 2) how good North Carolina is. While the Spartans avoided it last night by giving up “just” 98, you don’t see too many teams get close to that century mark on a historically good defensive team.
Raymar Morgan led the way with 21 points and six rebounds. Delvon Roe picked up eight rebounds while Chris Allen was the only other Spartan to score in double figures with 16. .348 shooting isn’t going to cut and that’s what MSU shot last night.
Next up are the Bradley Braves this Sunday. Bradley’s 4-2 but they got destroyed by Florida earlier in the year. The Spartans shouldn’t have any problems with this game considering they’ll be at the Breslin Center.

It was a sad loss for Michigan State, I know… I am a Mizzou fan, but was rooting for you folks. You see, my Grandfather was a MSU Alumn..and since Mizzou lost out in the final 8 to U Conn, and after the comments by ESPN… I really wanted you folks to win. I am sorry you didn’t. Your players did a heck of a great job, but let’s face it, Roy Williams seems to be a coach among coaches. Kansas suffered when he left for UNC and they are still hurting… Bill Self is good mind you, but not as good as Roy Williams who used to beat Mizzou all the time. I so wanted your team to beat him… I know my Grandfather always loved MSU, so I hold a special place in my heart for your school, too…but I am a Mizzou grad and fan, too. Good luck next year.
